Best meal we ate in Charlotte. Came with a group of 6 for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was very busy/lively. To start, we ordered the hushpuppies (10/10) and the peach and zucchini cold side (10/10). To eat, we shared family style: 1 whole fried chicken (9/10), 1 whole fried chicken Nashville hot (10/10), 3 waffles, cauliflower (12/10), mac and cheese (8/10), and brussels sprouts (12/10). For dessert, we got 3 orders of the banana pudding (6/10). The portions were large, so it was a bit too much food for 6, but we managed to finish it. The banana pudding was the only thing we didn't love (had more of a vanilla flavor than banana). Drinks were great, as was service. Definitely check this place out.

Very trendy restaurant serving southern classics. This restaurant showed up as a recommendation on many of the sites I looked at when planning this trip so I knew I wanted to try it out. I made (and paid) for a reservation on their website easily, I think I paid maybe $7 that was nonrefundable. I don't really think I needed the reservation, but my anxiety likes to know I have one! The cocktails were the star of the show. Look at how beautiful those drinks are?! Honestly, everything we had was good but it was a very expensive breakfast and not sure either of us left dreaming about this meal, but we did enjoy it. The area itself is very cute and would recommend going.

Great place. Parking can be tricky so I would recommend coming early and find street parking. We arrived around 4:30/5pm and didn't have to wait for a table. I was nervous about coming here since I am a pescatarian but I found enough dishes to fill me up. My favorite dish would be the smoked deviled eggs! Those were so tasty!

Great food, service, and atmosphere. Parking in public spaces across street at YMCA recommended

This southern kitchen restaurant located in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte offers comfort food. They have a large bar and serve craft cocktails. We sat in the indoor patio of the restaurant. We started with the Oyster appetizer $22 most were good but a couple were not good and soggy. The Trout $34 was large and delicious with nice crispy skin but it didn't come with a side for that price it should have. The smoked half chicken $18, okra side $10, cauliflower side $10 and two biscuits $5 were all good. They have a nice atmosphere especially in the main part of the restaurant. The service was great. We paid for parking in this area.

Came here for brunch on Sunday at noon. There is a competition for street parking because of all of the other restaurants and shops on the same block. However, there is paid parking across the street at the YMCA. $10.50 for 3 hours. This day and time were super packed. When you walk in, there is not a designated lobby/foyer area. Everyone was just jammed packed right in the doorway. I could not really tell who the hostess was or how someone would go about requesting a table. Later, I did see there was a tablet on the wall by the jammed packed door where names were being taken for seating. Luckily, I arrived and spotted my large group of 13 was already seated. We had one waiter for all of us and he was really efficient and new the menu well when we all had questions. We were even allowed to sample a cocktail to see if we liked it before ordering. Everything is a la.carte. My tab alone was $56, which did not include a gratuity. I ordered a bowl of grits. The flavor was there, but the grits were chewy, it was the consistency of oatmeal. I did not like them. I also ordered the crunchy brussel sprouts. They were a 10/10. It's a large portion enough for 2. My entree was the Shrimp and grits cakes. Grits on the bottom, topped with ham, collard greens, and shrimp on top. This was a unique combo, but all of the flavors together were top-notch. I tasted a friends tater tots, they were very flavorful, fried hard, soft in the middle. Delicious! I had a cocktail called Happy Go Lucky! Vodka, gin, champagne, lime, grapefruit, and blood orange. Definitely recommend!

I was finally able to try Haberdish recently. I would recommend not going to this restaurant starving unless you have a reservation because they are popular and typically have a wait time. I went alone and sat at the bar, so I was able to immediately grab a seat. The menu is al la carte so expect to spend a nice amount if you order a full meal. I started off with a French 75 which was lovely and the presentation was great. I then ordered the fried chicken (breast and wing), their Mac and cheese with chicken skins (why not) that also had some form of buffalo sauce or some sort and collard greens. The chicken was fried to perfection but to me lacked flavor once you got beyond the skin. They do offer sauces for the chicken but I brought my own Louisiana hot sauce lol. The Mac and cheese was cheesy but without the sauce from the skin, it lacked seasoning to me. The greens had the most flavor and had something added to it that I couldn't put my finger on but it was good! My pics aren't the best because it was dim and very intimate. I spent about $60 something dollars including a 20% tip which to me isn't bad, especially with the portion sizes. I'm surprised how much I finished lol. Lastly, my service was good from walking into the establishment to my bartender/waitress. So, overall, I will still go again but I will try something else. Definitely try them out!
